Wah finally! Prata Shop stop taking orders with pen and papaer. Yesterday we went there after mahjong. I am surprised now they use touch screen computer to get the orders.

Looks like the most impossible, also has to keep up with technology!

Comex 2008

Today is the start of Comex 2008 @ Suntec. I took a day leave and hoping today is less crowded. I was wrong! The crowd is still very strong, i cannot imagine how the weeekend will look like

Anyway i got the following
1. Canon Ink and Paper
2. DVD R
3. 1 TB WD Portable Harddisk

And go home as a happy man :)

Army Half Marathon 2008

Just completed the run today. I signed up for the 6km Fun Run since i havent been running such long distance for quite some time.

The run is good. It rained heavily the previous day though, there isnt any direct sun as well! Weather is great, view is magnificent. We ran through Singapore Flyer, Esplanade, Suntec City and the city skyline , minus the part where we are runinng through the construction site :S

I think i took about 35 mins to complete the run. There are so many SAF people here, i guessed because this is ARMY 1/2 Marathon.



Already confirmed with JH, we will sign up for Std Chart 10km run. 21km ? Maybe next year :)




And i also wonder how these 2 girls run ;)

Today we went lunch at Mac @ Compass Point. I was surprised that the waiter tell me "sorry sir, we do not have any more garlic chilli". What? I was surprised. French Fries taste best with Garlic Chilli. I dont think i will be going to Macdonald any more.. until they come back with Garlic Chilli.

Beijing Olympics Women's Team final : Singapore vs China.

Singapore has Li JiaWei, Feng TianWei and XXX , while China has World No#1 Zhang, World #2 and World #5

If you never follow , you may think is China vs China since all our sports talents are imported from China. Li and Zhang came from the same training school about 1.5 decades ago when the Singapore scout spotted them. China keeps Zhang and give us Li.

Does it really matter? Some people say Yes, Some say No. But at the end of the day, the medal credited to Singapore after 48 years. For the sportswomen, is a dream for them come true because they will never make it to the China team when China is so spoilt for choice ( they left out #3 and #4 which are also from China )

And for Singapore, our small island finally has our name on the Medal Tally table , and ranked higher than some of the bigger countries in the globe.

So win win situation .. why not?

Watched this in Taipei last nite. I must say this is a show worth watching the 2nd time!

The show is about a Waste Collector Robot who is the only one on planet Earth ( 700 yrs from now ) . How he met this lady robot call Eve ( i thought it was EVA.. ) and a series of comedy , romance and adventures from there onwards to bring thepeople back to Planet Earth - their home.

Pixar never fails to disappoints!

Another Great Movie not to missed! I dont think singapore has started to screen this yet. I caught this in Taipei last night.

The show talks about Wall E , the robot who clears wastes on Earth and how he met EVE ( i thought was EVA ) and started a series of comedy , romantic and exciting adventures to bring the people back to earth !

Olympics Memories - One Man Show

Beijing Olympics - Events i never knew i would watch

Olympics started on 08-08-08. over the weekend i started to keep my eyes on the TV to watch the various olympic events. There are some events which i never even expected myself to watch. Things like Weightlifting ( China girl lifted the first goal ). Watching Swimming heats , different contestants swimming laps over lap for 3-4 hours against different events ; fencing ; judo ; shooting ; gymanstics ; diving.

My favourite is still Gymnastics , Swimming and Diving. I am totally amazed at the gymansts. Look at those from the China team , and you will understand what i mean. I think the youngest is only 13. To achieve olympic level quality , i think they have to start training once they can walk. These people train from day till night, what happened to their childhood ? Given a choice and talent, will i do the same ? Hah, i dont think so. I need to stay on the computer at least 12 hours a day :P

And in addition, they never give up, sometimes , the competitors fell off the bar, but they dont give up! they just get up and complete the sequence or routine they are supposed to do. All the years of hardwork to prepare for this event will just be on that 1 min or 2 mins on the bar. The sportsmanship and the never-say-no is really something we need to look up to

Swimming is another of my favourite. Men's Swimming, drool and hope i get a swimmer body like that. Women's swmming -> Still thinking about their sexual identity.

Tao Li ( Representing Singapore ) is going to participate in her 100m butterfly in about 2 hours time . Hopefully , she can bring Singaporeans proud by clinching a medal. I will definately stay tune to the TV to watch!

8th Time Taipei , Talk about Food!

8th time to Taipei for work this year. There isnt really much to talk about here about Taiwan. Everyday is a routine , Hotel->office->Hotel. Lets blog down the food i eat this time.

Breakfast in the hotel. The food isnt cheap actually, in fact i think it is considered expensive. A breakfast buffet will costs 660 TWN per person. That is equivalent to about $30. If you have Golden Circle card, it will probably costs you 50% less. Everytime i go for breakfast at the coffeehouse, i didnt eat much. The more i think the more i do not find it worth the money.


Chilli's is one of my favourite restaurant for dinner in Taipei. The food is great, though in big portion. If you go in groups, it is quite a nice place to munch and talk. I love the buffalo wings in particular. Actually i LOVE buffalo wings no matter where i go. Haha.


Po-I brought us to this cosy Jap house for dinner one of the days after we finished our tasks in our ODM partner's offices. This place is call 居酒屋. Food is great. Even 七仔 & Good Luck Bear joined us for dinner. HoHo

Another good series by TVB! Particularly love the comeback of Anita Yuen and "Jackie", till now i still cannot remember "Jackie" real name. haha. although i saw her in Taipei, :)

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Today is our country 43rd birthday!
Also one of my colleague's 2nd daughter new born day!
And also the start of the olympic games ( minus opening ceremony )

Didnt manage to get tickets to the parade this year, was hoping Mrs Chan can get 2 or 4 tix and let Aunt go with my niece. watching olympics on Channel 300. ( HD ). Shiok ! Wondering when Singapore team will be shown on the HD Channel.

Have Dental later at Compass point. Ever since 6 months back when i broke a tooth, i make a point to visit the dental every 6 months.

And oh yah, i need to make appointment to visit Thomson Medical Centre too...

The New Sengkang Swimming Complex

Opened on Aug1, yesterday was my last day of training , the class ends at 1pm . Went back home early before the mahjong session at 6pm. Finally ! there is a mahjong session. I havent been playing for i think at least 4 months!!

Decided to pop into the new swimming complex to check out the facilities, met up with Jacob ( neighbourhood friend ) to go together. Admission Fees is expensive, ( $1.50 ) compared to the other pools, but the environment looks like Wild Wild Wet @ Downtown East. They have 2 olympic size pool, one of them is sheltered,i.e. you can swim Rain or Shine. I only took a 20min dip before we left, since both of us are in a hurry. Drop Jacob back @ PG ...

Bad MJ Session . 一家输三家。Lost $195... Aug2 is the first day of Ghost Month.. maybe thats why.....
